Messiah Lutheran Church in Seattle is looking for a person to be our Organist and preferably also a Choir Accompanist. We are a confessional Lutheran church that uses the historical liturgy and hymns. Our pipe organ has 25 ranks and 18 stops. Duties include playing for our weekly Sunday morning services as well as Wednesday evening services during Advent and Lent and other special services. For the Choir Accompanist role, weekly choir practices are usually Thursday evenings September through June. Current combined salary for both roles is $24,000 per year and includes no benefits outside of four Sundays paid vacation.
This position includes an opportunity for expanded responsibilities and growth into a Music Director role for the right candidate. Depending on experience and interest, the role may expand to include direction of choir(s) and instrumental ensemble. Additional annual salary for this role is $11,250.
