Flowers today are given to the Glory of God by Bob & Joyce Lucas in celebration of their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Baptized today in the 10:45 service, Chase Maverick Tucker, born May 18, 2011. Son of Rick & Jennifer Tucker and little brother to Caedan & Colton.
Baptized June 5, in a private ceremony, Jared Hendrickson, adult son of Karen Smith.
Today, we say goodbye to the Marik Family, Mark, Lisa, Derrick & William who will be joining St. John Lutheran Church in Alexandria, VA. They have been members here at Messiah since June 2002.
For June, we will be collecting women’s hygiene supplies. Your donations are always appreciated at the Compass Cascade Women’s Shelter. Please leave your donations in the upstairs lounge area. Totals for the month of May were: 100 Toothpaste, 74 tooth brushes, 6 packages of floss and 5 lotions. Thank you to everyone!

Today, the students studied “Journey with Elisha” from 2 Kings 4:8-37 in Sunday school. Share how God miraculously cared for Elisha and those around him. Parents might ask, “What amazing miracle did God perform through Elisha? How does God raise us for all eternity?”
Ladies Night Out- Join us at Anthony's HomePort on Shilshole Bay, June 27th at 5:45 pm. Leah Mindemann will be our hostess and the view of Puget Sound is spectacular. Dining at 5:45pm will allow us to take advantage of Anthony's 4-course Sunset Dinner for $19.95. If you prefer, you can order off the regular menu. Coming August 22-26, 2011! This year’s Continuing Education Class “No More ‘Peek-a-Boo’ Jesus: Christology of the Old Testament.” Cost for the class will be $150.00. “Mission In Motion” This is the last Sunday to pledge Margie Longan as she participates in the “Pledge, Walk & Exercise” at the LWML’s 34th Biennial Convention in Peoria, Illinois! All donations need to be collected today, June 12. Please make checks payable to Messiah Lutheran Church and memo it to LWML, pledge walk.
The youth of Messiah attending the Higher Things conference will be washing cars TODAY, June 12 and June 26 between Sunday services and for an hour after late service to raise funds for their trip. Cars are being washed and dried (dried, weather permitting) for your generous donations. So pull your cars up to the Northeast Cleaners just south of Messiah on the corner of 35th & 70th and let us wash your car!

Law & Gospel Class - Class will continue through the summer quarter. If you are interested in studying Walther’s lectures on the subject – you are invited. Classes are on Thursday nights from 7-9 p.m. Books are available in the church office.
