Pastor’s Thursday Morning Class will begin this Thursday, September 30th at 10:30am.

The deadline for budget requests for the 2011 Spending Guide is Sunday, October 3. Please submit requests to the Treasurer, Harry Edmon.

New Education Opportunity - The Book of Genesis, taught by Jim Grant will begin this Thursday,  September 30th in the High School room at 7pm.  If you are interested in starting a new Bible study, please sign up for this class on the upstairs bulletin board.

AIC Desserts - There are still a few spots open.  If you love to bake,  please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.

This month we are collecting women’s hygiene products and liquid body soap for Immanuel Community services & Compass Cascade Women’s Center .  Please put these items in the lounge basket.

School Kits & Health Kits are now being collected.  While school kits are still welcome, we would like to emphasize the need for health kit supplies.  Items requested include hand towels of a dark color, wash cloths of a dark color, bar soap, adult-size toothbrushes, sturdy combs, metal nail files or nail clippers with file attached, and Band-Aids.  Lists of these items may be picked up in the Narthex.  Thank you.

Dining Together - This fall, we will be, once again, starting this potluck dinner activity.  Groups of 6 people will dine together at rotating hosts/hostesses homes.  This is a great way to meet other members of Messiah and make some new friends.  Sign-up sheets can be found on the bulletin boards.  Registration ends on October 10th.

Greeter Coordinator- Can you help?  We need a volunteer to organize our Sunday greeters.  If you would like to take on this task, please contact Kathee McAlpine in the church office.

Bell Choir - Do you enjoy music? The bell choir plays once a month in both services and would love to have more ringers. If you'd like to play bells, please contact Dorothy Bellin and we will arrange training.

Kitchen Crew sign ups - Our Fellowship Chair has requested more organized support for the following fellowship activities - 2 new member receptions, Confirmation reception, Vicar arrival/departure and Autumn Evening.  Three Kitchen Crews (women, men, teens) are planned with each Crew being asked to assist with only two of these events in a year.  Sign up in the upper Narthex.

Scholastic Book Fair- Join Concordia October 4th -8th  for the Scholastic Book Fair!  Located in the main hallway of Concordia School, this is the perfect place to find a book to enjoy on the chilly fall evenings to come!

Needed - Do you have a small portable cd player that you don’t use anymore? Please consider donating it to LMS! Contact Cheryl Kohring.

Ensemble - The Ensemble will next practice on September 29th

ME, A PASTOR? ME, A DEACONESS? If you have found yourself asking this question or have ever considered studying to be a pastor, now is the time to do something about it! Rev. Tom Zimmerman of Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana is going to be here at Messiah on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 4-7pm.  Come and explore the possibility of entering the ministry.  Men of all ages are invited, as are their wives, children or fiancees.  Women interested in the deaconess program are also invited, along with their families.  Conferences are individual and informal.  Reservations are NOT needed.  If you have any questions please contact Rev. Zimmerman by phone at 800.481.2155 or by email at tom.zimmerman@ctsfw.edu.

Mite Money - You can place your Mite box in the basket on the usher’s station at the back of the sanctuary.  Mites go to many worthy projects in our State and all over the world.
