Everyone is encouraged to take their Sunday bulletins home after worship. Take time during the week to review the weekly lessons printed on the back of your bulletin and keep the announcements and calendar handy so you don’t miss anything during the week.

The Youth will be having a Car Wash Fundraiser today after the second service at the corner cleaners. They are raising money for their upcoming LCMS Youth Gathering trip to “Higher Things” in Logan, Utah. Come support our youth!

The homeless need to brush their teeth too! Body lotions are great, especially when you spend most of your time outside. The lounge basket is for our donation to the homeless!

Once again Messiah will be hosting a Seminary Continuing Education Class this summer, August 16-20, 2010. This class is open to all lay persons at a cost of $125. (This year the class is 4.5 days instead of the 3 days of last years class) The title of this course is “History and Theology of the LCMS” taught by Dr. Lawrence Rast, JR., Ph.D. This course is an extended consideration of the history of the LCMS with a focus on the last 40 years. Pastor encourages you to attend this class if you are able. Sign up on the bulletin board and register online at www.ctsfw.edu.

This year’s WA-AK District Convention will be held in Spokane, June 18-20th, 2010. Maize Johnson is one of our representatives traveling to the convention from Messiah along with Irma Guthrie, Margie Longan and June Scott. Maizie is going to participate in the “Mission Walk” on Saturday morning. Would you like to help her raise money for the 2010-2012 Mission Grants? You can sponsor her and help a great cause! REAL REFORMATION RADIO...Do any of these topics interest you?: Women in the Scriptures, The First Pentecost, The Person & Work of the Holy Spirit, Psychic Hotlines, Emperor Constantine and more. Issues, Etc. Is a radio talk show produced by Lutheran Public Radio and hosted by LCMS pastor Todd Wilken. You can listen to what you want when you want at www.issuesetc.org.

Today in Sunday School -Today’s Sunday School lesson taught the children that at Pentecost, God sent the Holy Spirit to His Church (Acts 2:1-21). Now, through Word and Sacrament, God gives us His Holy Spirit to create and sustain saving faith in Jesus. Ask the children to tell you about what happened at Pentecost. Ask them when they received the Holy Spirit (in Baptism). Review the Third Article of the catechism in your family discussions.

“Lets all go to the Ball Game!” Sign up today on the upstairs bulletin board! You and your family can sign up for 3 different dates. Which ever date we get the most people will be the date we go. The 3 dates are June 1st, 4th or 5th . The cost of the tickets are $20.00. The more people who sign up, the lower the tickets will cost.

The Thrivent Financial Seminar scheduled for May 15th has been moved to Saturday, June 19th at 1:00 pm. Retirement Savings Opportunities. Sign up on the bulletin board.
